New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underscored the vital role of agriculture in India’s growth, describing it as the cornerstone of the nation’s prosperity and farmers as its true “annadatas” (providers of food).
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Agriculture is the cornerstone of our prosperity, and our farmer brothers and sisters are the country’s grain-givers. It is their hard work and dedication that ensures the nation’s progress.”
Highlighting the significance of farming through traditional wisdom, PM Modi shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam that praises agriculture as a source of wealth, a purifier of intellect, and the basis of all living beings. The verse conveys that the farmer, who cultivates crops and provides food to the world, is the ultimate provider, as all forms of charity and material wealth hold little value without food.
