PM Modi congratulates Vijay on taking oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated C. Joseph Vijay after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, extending his best wishes for the new tenure and assuring full cooperation from the Centre for the state’s development.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Congratulations to Thiru C. Joseph Vijay on taking oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Best wishes for his tenure ahead. The Central Government will keep working with the Tamil Nadu Government to improve the lives of people.”
The message came shortly after Vijay was sworn in as Chief Minister in Chennai, marking a major political shift in Tamil Nadu with the end of nearly six decades of alternating rule between the DMK and AIADMK.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Vijay at a grand ceremony held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
