Malayalam actor Ambika Rao passes away
New Delhi: Malayalam actor Ambika Rao passed away at a private hospital in Kochi, Kerala, after suffering from post-covid related complications. She was 58 years old.
The actress was suffering from kidney-related ailments for a long time and had recently recovered from the covid-19 infection.
She began her career as an assistant director in the early 2000s and had worked under several seasoned filmmakers including Balachandra Menon, Anwar Rasheed, Shafi, and Vinayan. Rao has also acted in many films including critically acclaimed films like Virus and Kumbalangi.
Her other works include Meesha Madhavan, Anuraga Krikkin Vellam, Thamasha, and Salt and Pepper, among others.
Her untimely demise came as a shock to the entire Malayalam industry. Several celebrities including Mohanlal, Mammooty, and Prithviraj Sukumaran paid their condolences over the death of Rao through social media and also paid tribute to the late artist.
