Maharashtra: 10 Ministers and more than 20 MLAs tests Covid-19 positive
Mumbai: The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Saturday informed that around 20 MLAs and ten Ministers have tested Covid-19 positive. We cut short the Assembly session recently.
Omicron and Covid-19 variant’s cases in Maharashtra are steadily rising – which could be a new challenge for the state government in the upcoming weeks or days.
After Ministers and MLAs tested positive – the Dy CM said that “Everybody wants to be part of the celebrations of New Year, birthdays and other occasions. Keep in mind that the new variant (Omicron) spreads fast and hence caution is needed,”
A few days back, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an appeal – in which he said that some states have announced a night curfew because of the surge in Covid-19 cases.
On the irresponsible behavior of residents, Ajit Pawar said that “the state government is keeping a tab on the increasing number of patients. If the number of patients continues to rise then there will be strict restrictions. To avoid strict restrictions, everybody should follow norms.” The Deputy Chief Minister’s remarks came a day after Maharashtra reported 8,067 fresh Covid-19 positive cases.
