Mumbai: The Jai Jawan Govind Pathak team from Mumbai, Maharashtra, set a new Guinness World Record for breaking a 50 feet high earthen pot full of yogurt on Thursday, August 18, 2022, on the occasion of Janamashtmi.

The team defeated Spain and China to enter the Book of world records. The Indian team had previously formed a 43.79 feet long human pyramid in Thane comprising nine levels in August 2012. However, the Spanish team equalled the record in October 2012, followed by China in July 2015.

The Jai Jawan Govind Pathak team claimed the title again in 2022 by surpassing its own record and forming a 50 feet high human pyramid. They attempted seven feet more than in the previous record.

The suspended earthen pot full of yogurt was smashed by a 14-year-old this year as a part of Indian tradition followed annually on the auspicious festival of Janamashtmi.

Janamashtmi is an auspicious Indian festival that celebrates and remembers the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, a God considered to be one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
