India’s youngest IPS officer Safin Hasan motivates AVMA students to become changemakers
Ahmedabad, 29 December 2022: India’s youngest IPS officer, 22-year-old Safin Hasan, visited Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad (AVMA) today to interact with the students. The DCP Traffic, Ahmedabad East, was in the school, run by the Adani Foundation, as part of its initiative, ‘Changemaker’.
During his interaction with the students, he explained the significance of 12 virtues of AVMA – Faith, Justice, Honesty, Humour, Courage, Growth, Love, Loyalty, Leadership, Challenge, Wisdom, and Peace. He urged them to believe in themselves, love themselves and realise their dreams in life with honesty and an indomitable spirit.
The students were awestruck to learn about how Safin beat the odds and, through sheer strength and determination achieved his dreams. In 2017, when he was on his way to appear for his UPSC written exam, he met with an accident and was severely injured. Despite that, he wrote his paper and was then admitted to the hospital, where he underwent numerous surgeries.
Safin’s journey towards achieving his dreams was fraught with unprecedented challenges. Hailing from a middle-class family, he personifies determination and perseverance. He shared with the students how a collector’s visit to his school and the respect accorded to him impressed Safin. It was this collector’s visit that inspired young Safin to become an IPS officer.
The Changemaker series is designed to encourage young minds to draw inspiration from experts, practitioners, and professionals from various fields. Speakers share their real-life experiences and provide insights on their journey to success with the students of Adani Vidya Mandir, which provides high quality education to the children belonging to underprivileged families.
