IMD predicts Rainfall in the South, North, and North-Eastern States
New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rains will continue in the Kerala-Mahe, and Tamil Nadu-Pondicherry region from April 12-14.
On the other hand, the North-eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh are also predicted to experience heavy rainfall from April 13 to April 17, 2022.
“Heavy rainfall spells likely to continue over Kerala-Mahe and Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal on April 13-14 and over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh during April 13-17, 2022,” the IMD informed on Twitter.
The Western Himalayan region will witness moderate rainfall from April 12-16 due to the influence of a fresh western disturbance.
Meanwhile, Punjab, Northwest Rajasthan, and Haryana experienced rainfall on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. The IMD forecasted thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu-Kashmir and Punjab.
It also tweeted regarding heavy winds over southern parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana.
“Isolated thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) also likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab on April 12-13, over Uttarakhand on April 13-14, and over Haryana on April 13, 2022,” the IMD tweeted.
