Gaming: Suicide Squad-Kill the Justice League delayed till Spring 2023
New Delhi: The launch date of one of the most anticipated video games of 2022, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has been delayed to Spring 2023. The Creative Director and Co-Founder of Rocksteady, Sefton Hill, took to Twitter and broke the news on the micro-blogging site.
Hill tweeted, “We’ve made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to Spring 2023. I know a delay is frustrating, but that time is going into making the best game we can.”
The Suicide Squad game was first revealed at DC FanDome 2020 and offered a first look at the group of volatile misfits, including Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang, as they prepare to take on a mind-controlled Superman.
The studio had showcased a glimpse of the gameplay, the remaining evil Justice League, and highlighted the kit of every character and their attacking patterns during the Game Awards 2021.
According to Hill, the story is set within the Arkhamverse post the demise of Bruce Wayne in Batman: Arkham Knight (2015). The game hints at addressing incomplete plots or storylines referred to in the past.
The multiplayer co-op gameplay will make players select a character and team up with three others. Players can also opt for a Solo mode wherein other characters will be helmed by the AI (artificial intelligence). Players can swap between characters and add different modes of fighting.
Meanwhile, Rocksteady’s sister studio Warner Bros (WB) Games, Montreal, will launch Gotham Knights on October 25, 2022. The game revolves around the Bat and Wayne Family, includes RPG-like levelling systems, and functions as a soft reboot for their future projects.
WB also expected to release a Harry Potter role-playing game during the Holiday season this year. Titled Hogwarts Legacy, the plot is set in the 1800s, long before the Chosen One was born.
Potterheads can create custom wizards and embark on a journey through the Hogwarts castle. Players can learn spells, craft potions, battle wizards, and tame beasts, among other activities.
