Football: Brazil to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup, says FIFA
New Delhi, May 18: FIFA, the international body governing football, has confirmed that Brazil, which beat a joint bid by Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany (BNG), will host the 2027 women’s World Cup, the media reported on Friday.
“Congratulations to Brazil. We will have the best World Cup in Brazil,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
According to FIFA, both Brazil and BNG bids had hosting criteria, but Brazil was advanced in terms of infrastructures like stadiums, accommodations, fan zones, and transport.
Brazil will be the first South American country to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup. It hosted the FIFA Men’s World Cup twice in 1950 and 2014.
