The top-level spy of the Israeli official intelligence agency was identified as Mohsen Langarneshin, convicted by the Iranian government for allegedly providing technical and logistical support to Mossad.
He was accused of playing a crucial role in the assassination of Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, in Tehran in May 2022, according to the Mizan news agency of Iran.
Mohsen was hanged on Wednesday in accordance with all legal and judicial processes.
He was accused of killing Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, a member of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, in Tehran in May 2022. He had bought a motorcycle to track the Iranian leader and relay the information to Mossad. He confessed to the charges, leading to his conviction.
Iran cited “extensive intelligence and technical evidence” linking Langarneshin to the spy operations and said he “fully confessed” to his involvement.
