Yerevan, Armenia: Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav arrived in Armenia’s Yerevan today to attend the high-level segment of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. In a social media post, the minister said he would present India’s views, efforts and achievements in conserving its rich natural biodiversity across the different bilateral and multilateral forums. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s focus on conservation efforts has resulted in significant progress in achieving targets under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity is being held in Armenia’s Yerevan from October 19-30. The conference will offer an opportunity to review collective progress towards the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework for the first time.
