Earthquake: Tremblor Measuring Magnitude 5 Jolts Gujarat’s Dwarka
Ahmedabad: An earthquake of magnitude 5 on the Richter scale struck Dwarka in Gujarat on Thursday. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) broke the news on social media.
Sharing a seismograph on Twitter, the NCS wrote, “An earthquake of magnitude intensity 5.0 occurred on November 4, 2021, at 03:15 pm IST at a latitude of 24.15, Longitude 68.29, and a depth of 10kms located at least 233kms North-Northwest of Dwarka, Gujarat.”
This earthquake comes after a tremblor of 3.7 intensity jolted Guwahati and other parts of Assam on Thursday morning. The NCS said that the epicentre was situated 35kms West of Tezpur in Sonitpur District, Assam, and struck at 10: 19 am IST with latitude 26.9, longitude 92.44, and at a depth of 25kms.
No casualty or damage to property was reported or observed in Dwarka or Guwahati so far.
