Diplomatic Boycott of Beijing Winter Olympic: Japan is unclear on sending government officials to China
New Delhi: The Government of Japan on Friday announced that they have no plans to send the government officials to Beijing Winter Olympics, although the players would participate.
The Decision of Japan government comes after the UK, the US, Australia, and Canada have already diplomatically boycotted Beijing Winter Olympics.
Hirokazu Matsuno – the Chief Cabinet Secretary told the media that “Tokyo will not send its government delegation to the Winter Olympic Games set to commence in February. Rather, officials directly related to the Games will be sent, which will include the head of the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee and heads of domestic Olympics and Paralympic committees.”
However, The reason behind a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics is Human rights violations in Xinjiang and other parts of China.
Earlier this month, the UK and Canada had announced that they will not send their government officials to the Winter Olympic Games after the US and Australia had declared the same intentions earlier.
Poor and untrustworthy friend of China – the Islamabad government showed its support in favor of China and said nobody should do politics on sports.
According to a media report, The Chinese government has imprisoned more than one million people since 2017 and subjected those not detained to intense surveillance, religious restrictions, forced labor, and forced sterilizations.
