Covid-19: India Reports 71,365 Cases In Last 24 Hrs, active cases decline
New Delhi: India logged 71,365 new coronavirus infections taking the country’s total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,24,10,976, while the active cases declined to 8,92,828, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
1,72,211 patients recovered in the country on Tuesday taking the recovery rate to 96.70 percent in the last 24 hours while the total Recoveries now stand at 41,012,869.
The active cases comprise 2.11 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.70 percent, the ministry said.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 6,107 new coronavirus cases, 329 less than the day ago, and 57 fresh deaths linked to the infection, while 16,035 more patients recovered from the disease.
According to the department till date, a total of 3,334 patients infected with the highly contagious Omicron variant have been reported in the state.
