New Delhi, February 23: The Uttarakhand government started the preparation for the Char Dham yatra and made it mandatory for devotees to undergo the registration process, whether they are coming from another state or from abroad.

While talking about such a decision, the chief secretary of Uttarakhand, SS Sandhu, stated that the state “will make a better arrangement for all the devotees so they do not have any trouble during their Char Dham yatra.” He even added, “This year it is estimated that the number of devotees will be more than the previous year,” which had crossed the 22 lakh mark according to the official data for the Char Dham and Hemkunt Sahib Yatra.

To ensure a better implementation of the registration decision, the government has circulated the latter of such “rule” to all state chief secretaries. And to spread awareness among the devotees, the tourism department also made some preparations to circulate the news in all-state newspapers in all different languages.

The government has been in action to make the yatra more successful, as devotees do not face any problems and all department officials have been ordered to stay on alert and complete the preparation for the yatra beforehand.

“The Char Dham of Uttarakhand is a major centre of religious faith for the devotees. It is the responsibility of us that the journey of all the devotees should be safe and smooth.” Said the CM Dhami.

Before, On February 21, 2023, a review meeting was conducted under the leadership of the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, regarding prior preparation and other safety measures for the Char Dham Yatra. They had also ordered the concerned department to fill the crack in the rods.

Koshimath, which is considered to be the last stop to reach Badrinath Dham. The BRO team has been deployed, and a control room for disaster management will be set up for safety as the place faces issues with land subsidence.

“Joshimath won’t affect the Char Dham Yatra as the necessary steps will be taken to ensure safety,” assured CM Dhami. The Char Dhan Yatra is scheduled to begin in April 2023.
