New Delhi: The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has said that 330 drug samples have been identified as not of standard quality in September this year.
In a statement, the organisation said that Central Drugs Laboratories have identified 42 Drug Samples and State Drugs Testing Laboratories have identified 288 Drugs Samples as not of standard quality.
The identification of a drug sample as not of standard quality is based on its failure to meet one or more specified quality parameters. The issue is limited to the drug products tested by the government laboratory and does not raise concerns about other drug products available in the market.
CDSCO said that this action of identifying not of standard quality and Spurious medicines is taken on a regular basis in collaboration with state regulators. This exercise ensures that these drugs are identified and removed from the market.
