New Delhi: US President Donald Trump’s average approval rating steeply dropped by -0.9% during the past week, according to famed polling expert Nate Silver in the latest edition of his Silver Bulletin blog, published on Monday (January 26).
Trump was reported to have a -12.9% net approval rating on Monday, after having a -12.0% approval rating the week before, which is still higher than the same point of his first term but lower than his contemporaries, Fox Sports Radio reported.
“We’ve seen lots of new polls this week, and they haven’t been great for Donald Trump,” Silver wrote.
“His net approval rating in our average dropped from -12.0 on Monday to -12.9 today. That means Trump is still slightly more popular than he was at this point during his first term (-16.4 net approval rating), but he’s far less popular than former President Barack Obama (-8.5) and ex-President George w Bush (-10.4) were one year into their second terms.”
But Trump’s wife, Melania, is not far behind! Of course Donald is promoting her film.
With high hopes of making a quick buck, Amazon released its authorized documentary about Melania Trump in more than 100 cinemas in the United Kingdom last weekend, expecting it to be a blockbuster. Amazon MGM had bought its rights for USD40 million and is spending USD 35 million on a global marketing push, the media reported.
According to The Guardian, the documentary sold only one ticket for the first 3.10 PM show on Friday last week at its flagship Islington branch in London, while two tickets were sold for the 6pm screening. At the time of publication, the paper said, all seats remained available for the 28 screenings at the Blackburn, Castleford, and Hamilton branches.
The picture was slightly better at the Cineworld in Wandsworth which had sold four tickets, while five backrow seats were also booked at Cineworld in Broughton, the reports said.
The film documented the 20 days preceding Donald Trump’s return to power in January 2025. It was screened at the White House on Saturday and was set to have its official premiere in Washington.
With reports emerging about poor ticket sales, netizens had a field day and social media was flooded with memes and comments.
One of them, BMcArthur, wrote on X: Poor ticket sales for her documentary are the latest signs that Melania Trump will return to doing what she does best: NOTHING.!
