Tennis Player Murder: Accused Father sent to One Day Police Custody
NEW DELHI, July 11: A court in Gurugram on Friday sent Deepak Yadav, 49, the accused arrested for killing his daughter, tennis player Radhika Yadav, to police custody for a day.
A police official outside the court told reporters that they had sought two-day remand of the accused but the court granted only a day. “We have to recover the ammunition of his licensed revolver [used in the crime.] We also have to verify how the ammunition was procured,’’ He said.
When asked from where the recovery has to be made, the official said, “The accused owns land in Kasam village near Rewari. We have to get the ammunition from there. Radhika Yadav, 25, was allegedly shot dead by her father at the family’s double-storey home in the Sushant Lok area on Thursday. He has confessed to the crime.
Police further said they were investigating all possible angles in the murder case, including what the victim’s mother was doing when the incident occurred. According to an FIR registered based on the complaint of the deceased’s uncle, Kuldeep Yadav. Radhika Yadav’s mother, Manju Yadav, was present on the first floor of the house when the shooting took place.
