Siddhpur, September 17, 2026: Siddhpur, September 17, 2026: The 59th Engineers’ Day Celebration – 2026 was successfully organized at Gokul Global University, Siddhpur, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the University Seminar Hall, with enthusiasm and active participation from engineering professionals, academicians, faculty members and students.
Engineers’ Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, whose invaluable contributions to engineering and nation-building continue to inspire generations of engineers and students.
The celebration was organized on the theme, “Engineering Excellence for a Sustainable and Technologically Sovereign India.”
The programme commenced with the arrival and seating of dignitaries and guests, followed by invocation, welcome of dignitaries and ceremonial lighting of the lamp (Deep Prajwalan).
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, faculty members, engineers, students and guests. Dr. Vipul M. Dabhi, Dean (Admin), Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Dilipkumar S. Patel, Dean (Academic), Faculty of Engineering, welcomed the guests and dignitaries and extended greetings on behalf of the University.
Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Rao, Provost, Gokul Global University, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of engineering education and its contribution to the development of the nation. He emphasized the role of educational institutions in nurturing skilled, innovative and responsible engineers who can contribute to the technological progress of the country.
Er. M. D. Patel, FIE, Hon. Chairman, IEI Gujarat State Centre and Special Secretary, Irrigation Department, Government of Gujarat, and Er. J. A. Gandhi, MIE, Hon. Council Member, IEI Gujarat State Centre and Special Secretary, Roads & Buildings Department, Government of Gujarat, delivered insightful addresses emphasizing engineering excellence, innovation and technological development.
The Chief Guest, Shri Balwantsinh Rajput, Hon’ble President, Gokul Global University, delivered a special address on the occasion. He highlighted the importance of engineering in promoting sustainable development and strengthening India’s technological capabilities. He motivated the young engineers to contribute actively towards nation-building and encouraged them to play a meaningful role in realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.” He emphasized the importance of innovation, dedication, technical excellence and responsibility among young engineers in shaping a developed and technologically advanced India.
The event was successfully organized with the blessings of Hon. President, Gokul Global University, Shri Balwantsinh Rajput, and with the valuable support and guidance of Provost Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Rao and Registrar Dr. Chetansinh Vaghela. Their encouragement and leadership contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the celebration.
During the programme, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries were welcomed and felicitated. The celebration provided an opportunity to recognize the contribution of engineers and inspire students and young professionals towards innovation, creativity and excellence in the engineering field.
The formal programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Er. Himanshu Shah, Secretary, IEI-Gujarat State Centre, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, University leadership, faculty members, engineers, students and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the celebration. The programme was followed by the National Anthem.
Following the formal ceremony, the dignitaries and participants visited the Poster/Model Presentation Area, where engineering-related posters and models were presented by students. The presentation provided an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, technical knowledge and innovative ideas.
The successful coordination and execution of the celebration were carried out by Dr. Bhargav P. Majmundar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, and Mr. Mohitkumar Rami, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, whose dedicated efforts contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
The first-time joint organization of Engineers’ Day by IEI Gujarat State Centre and the Faculty of Engineering, Gokul Global University, marked an important step towards strengthening collaboration between professional engineering bodies and academic institutions across North Gujarat.
The celebration reaffirmed the importance of engineering excellence, sustainable development and technological advancement in shaping the future of the nation. The event also inspired young engineers and students to contribute towards nation-building and the vision of a developed India by 2047.
