YRF announces Jayeshbhai Jordaar release date
Mumbai: The Yash Raj Films (YRF) announced the release date of their upcoming venture titled Jayeshbhai Jordaar on Thursday, March 03, 2022. The film is expected to release in theatres on May 13, 2022.
YRF announced the date through a short video on their social media handle. The video features Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.
“Jayesh is not your typical larger than life hero but what he does in the course of the story is heroic. And that is something I was attracted to. He evolves into a hero and what he pulls off is remarkable and truly super. He is a superhero of a very unconventional type,” Singh said.
Singh posted the video on his Instagram handle with a caption that read, “Name is Jayeshbhai…And work is Jordaar!!! Check out the date announcement video. Celebrate Jayeshbhai Jordaar with YRF50 only at a big screen near you on 13th May.”
The star is all praise for Jayeshbhai Jordaar director Divyang Thakkar, who he feels has made one of the most endearing films in the history of Indian cinema.
Ranveer says, “My mentor Adi Chopra called me one day and said that he found a miraculous script and would like me to hear it. Divyang Thakkar, who’s never directed anything, narrated the film. The narration had me laughing through my tears and guffawing, laughing and crying at the same time. I had a tissue box kept on the table which got over by the end of the narration. I was entertained, moved.”
“I accepted to be a part of this picture right then and there. The writer-director Divyang Thakkar is the heart of this picture, and he is a bundle of pure love and joy, and the kindness of his heart, the kind, modest, and loving person that he is, shines through in his work, his film, and my role,” he added.
Maneesh Sharma, who gave Singh his start in Bollywood with the 2010 smash film “Band Baaja Baaraat,” is back in the flick.
Actor Shalini Pandey of Arjun Reddy fame makes her Bollywood debut with Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Other actors like Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah also star in the movie.
