Women entrepreneurs: Amazon launches “Saheli” for empowerment
New Delhi: The world’s largest e-commerce portal has started an Amazon Saheli Programme in India to empower and financially uplift local women entrepreneurs by providing them a global marketing platform.
It will connect local women entrepreneurs to the Amazon businesses and help them gain financial strength and independence, the portal said.
This initiative is specially designed for pre-existing women-run small businesses with local or negligible reach and will include skilled women who manufacture products themselves or within a team.
Women who want to start a business of their own can also join the program.
Companies with valid registration, bank account, and GST number are eligible to apply for the program. Besides this, updated KYC documents and adequate space for product manufacturing need to be displayed.
The prime benefit of the Saheli Programme includes a maximum commission of 12%. The company also provides personal training on product display and account management subjects to aid in business growth.
One can apply under the program through Amazon’s official website.
