New Delhi: Since late February, Western countries have provided military and financial assistance to Ukraine worth $12 billion, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has told a donor conference in Warsaw.
“Since the start of the large-scale war, Ukraine has received the support totaling over $12 billion, in the form of weapons supplies and financial assistance,” the media quoted him as saying.
Addressing a World Bank roundtable in Washington in late April, Shmygal said his country requires financial assistance of between $4 and $5 billion per month in the short-term perspective.
In response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, that he had made a decision to conduct a special military operation. Putin stressed that Moscow’s plans did not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories and assured that the goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the Eastern European country.
