A blood clot in her brain led to several health-related illnesses. After the operation, she was hospitalised twice in the last five months, where she was kept under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, she died during her sleep in her Juhu residence.
“She wasn’t keeping well and was also hospitalised twice – in December for about four days and later in January. Since then, she was getting treated at home. She had a blood clot in her brain, which created a lot of other health issues. So she wasn’t keeping well for a long time. She passed away around 9.30 AM today,” her son told media.
The veteran started her career during the early 1970s and wrote songs for films like Aarop, Razia Sultan, and Chaahat. Some of her selected works include famous films like Beti No1, Daman, Aetbaar, and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam. Govind had penned popular songs like Main Khiladi Tu Anadi and Aankhon Mein Base Ho Tum.
Though she worked actively from the 70s to the 1990s, the frequency of her projects reduced from the year 2000 onwards. Her last credited work was for a 2014 film titled Bazaar-E-Husn.
