Tollywood Director Sarath Passes Away at 74
New Delhi: Renowned Tollywood Director, Sarath, succumbed to cancer on Friday, April 01, 2022. According to family members, he passed away in a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 74 years old.
The director was admitted to the hospital a few days ago. His last rites will be performed as Maha Prasthanam on Saturday, April 02, 2022, at 11 am.
The Telugu film industry is in mourning the sudden demise. Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna is among several celebrities who paid tribute and condolences on social media.
Sarath made his directorial debut with the film Chadastapu Mogudu (1986). The film was based on a novel named Dear.
He became famous after his 1989 film Agni Nakshatram, starring Shobhan Babu, Mohan Babu, and Kalyan Chakravarthy Nandamuri.
However, Sarath’s 1991 film Peddintalludu earned him the title of a successful director. He made several successful films, including Pedda Annayya, Sultan, Super Mogudu, Abbai Gari Pelli, and Chinna Alludu, to name a few.
He directed more than 20 Telugu films in his two-decade-long career.
