The onus is on Pakistan to create a terror-free environment: Indian Ambassador at UN
New Delhi: India once again expressed interest to develop peaceful ties with Pakistan with terms and conditions. In an official statement in the United Nations, Indian Ambassador to the UN, TS Tirumurti said “The issues between the two neighboring countries should be resolved in an atmosphere free from terror, hostility, and violence.”
“Pakistan should take credible and verifiable action not to allow any territory under their control to be used for cross border terrorism against India. The onus is on Pakistan to create such an environment,” TS Tirumurti said.
India at UN cleared that relations with Pakistan cannot go ahead with terrorism and anti-India activities. India cleared its strong stand against terrorism.
The Ambassador continued saying that “We should address the question of violence and targeted attacks. All violence must come to an end. Ties with international terrorism should also be cut.” The Ambassador also highlighted India’s intent to keep a spotlight on counter-terrorism and cut ties with nations that promote international terrorism.
Meanwhile, India plans to hold a virtual, high-level open debate on maritime security on August 9 and the meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, confirmed Tirumurti. It should be noted that India on Sunday assumed the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and will be hosting signature events related to maritime security, peacekeeping, and counterterrorism during the month.
