The Kapil Sharma Show to return in September
New Delhi: According to recent reports, popular comedy talk show, The Kapil Sharma Show, is expected to return to TV in September 2022. The show went on a seasonal break recently to perform comedy shows in the United States of America and Canada.
The show aims to wrap up its commitments abroad and return to television in September 2022. The last episode of the show featured the cast of film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Several A-listers including Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Kamal Haasan, among others, have graced Sharma’s couch over the years and promoted their upcoming films. Musicians, Athletes, Sportspersons, and Entrepreneurs have also appeared on the show.
The Kapil Sharma Show began airing on Sony TV in the year 2016 and has been a fan favourite since. The show garnered massive mass appeal with celebrities from all walks of life making appearances every weekend, coupled with comic situations, audience interaction, and fun, playful elements.
The new season will reportedly feature new cast additions from September onwards. Actor-comedians Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakravarti, and Chandan Prabhakar constitute the current ensemble, whereas Bharti Singh and Rajiv Thakur have appeared in a few episodes.
Meanwhile, Sony TV filled the time-slot left by Kapil Sharma Show with a new stand-up reality show called India’s Laughter Champions. Judged by Archana Puran Singh and Shekhar Suman and hosted by Rochelle Rao, the show airs on weekends and hunts for finest stand-up comics across the country.
