New Delhi, July 11: Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti reached the semi-finals after beating Taylor Fritz in five sets on Wednesday, the media reported. Musetti won 3-6,7-6,7-5,6-2,3-6,6-1 against American player Taylor who is world no.13.
After winning, Lorenzo told reporters the victory meant everything to him. “After the birth of my son, I will put this in the second position. Of course, for my career, it is the best day of my life.”
Musetti,22, will next face Novak Djokovic who reached the semi-finals without playing quarter-finals after scheduled opponent Alex de Minaur withdrew because of a hip injury. Musetti and Novak will play on Friday.
