Indore: At least seven people were charred to death on Saturday morning after a fire broke out in a two-storey building in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. Nine have been rescued so far, Indore Police Commissioner Harinarayana Chari Mishra told the media.
Police Commissioner Mishra said, “Seven people have died and nine people have so far been rescued by officials present at the spot.” As per the reports, early investigations suggest that the fire was triggered by a short circuit.
Five bodies were pulled out of the building while the 11 wounded have been rushed to hospital, Vijay Nagar police station inspector Tehzeeb Qazi said. The fire has been brought under control and a detailed investigation was on, Qazi said.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed his condolences to the victims.

“The sad news of the untimely demise of many precious lives was received in the accident due to a short circuit in Swarn Bagh Colony of Indore. I pray to God to give place to the departed souls at his feet and give strength to the family members to bear this deep sorrow and to give speedy recovery to the injured,” he wrote on Twitter this morning.
