September 14 – ‘Hindi Divas’: Kerala Government launches new edition of ‘Surili Hindi’ to ease Hindi learning
Kochi: To attract more students to learn the Hindi language in easy ways – The Kerala government launched the new edition of ‘Surili Hindi’.
Hindi was adopted as the official language of India by the Constituent Assembly on 14 September 1949. The first Hindi Day or Hindi Diwas was observed on 14 September 1953.
V Sivankutty – The Education Minister of Kerala inaugurated the program. After the inauguration, Sivankutty said that “The project is being implemented by Samagra Shiksha Kerala. The new edition of ‘Surili Hindi’ will include techniques such as animations, puppetry, and picture transitions to make Hindi learning more attractive for students.”
This year, the activities are designed for children from Class 5 to 12. The module includes stories, poems, and plays. The first edition of the `Surili Hindi` project was launched in the academic year 2016-17 with the objective of improving Hindi learning in all upper primary schools. In the 2018-19 academic year, the project focussed on students from classes 5 to 8.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on the occasion of ‘Hindi Divas on Tuesday and said that people from different regions have played a significant role in making the language capable. It is due to your efforts that Hindi is strongly establishing its identity at the global level, he tweeted.
