New Delhi, February 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to well renowned Tamil director-actor K. Vishwanath, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday at the hospital in Hyderabad.
PM Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the filmmaker’s family and mourned the director-actor’s death on Twitter, writing, “Saddened by the passing away of Shri K. Viswanath Garu. He was a stalwart of the cinema world, distinguishing himself as a creative and multifaceted director. His films covered various genres and enthralled audiences for decades. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Mr. K. Vishwanath was hospitalised a few days ago for a poor health issue in Hyderabad, where he was undergoing treatment. But unfortunately, he was not able to make it and passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday in Hyderabad’s private hospital.
The death of such a renowned director-actor was shocking for the film industry. South film stars Sai Pallavi, Jr. NTR, Mahesh Babu, Kamal Hasan, and S.S. Rajamouli have all expressed their sorrow over the death. Anil Kapoor, AR Rehman and many other Bollywood stars pay heartfelt tribute to the filmmaker.
The legendary filmmaker was born on February 19, 1930, in the republic of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. He had given his contribution to the film industry and worked as a film director, screenwriter, actor, making him an all-rounder. He has received five national film awards, seven state Nandi awards, and prestigious awards like the Dadasaheb Falke Award in 2016 and the Padmashree Award in 1992 in his career.
