our embrace of cutting-edge technology and sustainability practices positions us as a leader in the aviation sector: Karan Adani
Speaking at the inauguration of the new terminal in Lucknow, Mr. Karan Adani of the Adani Group said, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-ji, Hon’ble Minister of Defence Shri Rajnath Singh-ji, Hon’ble Speaker Shri Satish Mahana-ji, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak-ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of State Shri Kaushal Kishore-ji, Hon’ble MLA Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, UP Shri Rajeshwar Singh-ji, Dignitaries, Guests, Colleagues, and my dear friends, Today, we are making history.
This new Terminal 3 will transform CCSIA – the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow – into the Gateway to Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration of this Integrated Passenger Terminal Building is a celebration of progress, and a testament to our collective vision.
The Phase-I of Terminal 3 is designed and engineered to accommodate 8 million passengers a year – that is two times the population of this city! With an initial investment of 2,400 crores, this state-of-the-art facility is a visible example of our commitment to augmenting passenger experience and operational efficacy.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-ji’s vision of transforming India into a global economic superpower resonates deeply with our aspirations for CCSIA. His emphasis on modernizing infrastructure, fostering innovation and promoting sustainable development aligns perfectly with our mission to create world-class airports for India.
Our vision for CCSIA is big and far-reaching. The master plan aims to expand the airport’s capacity to ultimately serve 38 million passengers annually by 2047-48. This exponential growth is a cornerstone of our strategy to support Uttar Pradesh’s aspiration to become a one-trillion-dollar economy. Through this development, we are not just building infrastructure – we are creating over 13,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, thus contributing significantly to the economic advancement of this region and the state.
Yet, what sets Terminal T3 apart is not just its scale or the sophistication of its facilities. It’s the heart and soul we have poured into incorporating Uttar Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage into its design. From the moment travellers set foot in Terminal T3, they are greeted with the Swaagat Wall, a magnificent display that captures the essence of Lucknow’s skyline, leading them through an immersive journey that includes the floral festivity of “Basant Bahar,” the serene beauty of the “Ghats of Uttar Pradesh,” and the innovative “Reflections of Rohu” installation.
In addition, our embrace of cutting-edge technology and sustainability practices positions us as a leader in the aviation sector. Initiatives such as Digiyatra for biometric access, self-service kiosks, and automated baggage systems not only streamline the travel experience but also reflect our commitment to innovation and efficiency. Furthermore, our sustainability features ensure that while we expand, we remain guardians of the environment, optimizing natural light, reducing waste, and conserving energy.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Through T3, we not only aim to create a world-class airport, but we also want to transform it into a symbol of pride for Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh. It is the perfect testament to what we can achieve when we work together.
We also take pride in our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our ecological footprint has been minimized to preserve the natural beauty of our surroundings for future generations – because, as our Chairman Shri Gautam Adani often says: Growth must always be With Goodness.
All this would not have been possible without unwavering support and guidance Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. Under his able leadership, Uttar Pradesh remains Uttar Pradesh and has entered an era of extraordinary development.
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Your unwavering commitment to ensuring Uttar Pradesh’s position as India’s leading destination for investment and tourism has been instrumental in propelling projects like T3 forward. Your dedication to improving infrastructure and connectivity across the state mirrors the Prime Minister’s grand vision for the nation. Your determination has paved the way for Uttar Pradesh to emerge as an economic powerhouse.
Today we are writing a new page in the history of CCSIA. Let us join together to establish Terminal 3 and make it an example of Cultural pride. Come, lets join with respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and respected Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath ji, let us bring a new dawn to Uttar Pradesh and India and lead us towards a bright future and create a developed India of 2047.
On behalf of the Adani Group, I thank you all for joining us on this historic day. And I promise you – there is much more ahead – Uttar Pradesh’s flight to progress is only just getting started.
