Omicron Threat: Uttar Pradesh Announces Night Curfew from December 25
Varanasi: The government of Uttar Pradesh comes to action as Omicron cases are turning into a warning in the state. Uttar Pradesh government has decided to impose a night curfew in the state from December 25.
According to the government officials, the night curfew will be imposed in the state from 11 to 5 at night till further orders. As per the new guidelines, more than 200 people will not be allowed in weddings till further notice.
India’s Omicron case tally has surpassed 350 and is likely to rise due to the festive celebrations ahead and gatherings which can be one of the reasons for Covid spread.
The Union Health Ministry’s updated data on Friday showed India recorded 122 cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, and it is the highest so far. Pushing its tally in the country to 358.
The 358 Omicron Covid variant cases are detected so far in 17 states and union territories so far, it showed.
Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of 88 cases of the Omicron variant, followed by Delhi with 67, Telangana 38, Tamil Nadu 34, Karnataka 31, and Gujarat 30.
As the Omicron cases in India continue to surge, the Allahabad High Court on Thursday urged the central government to stop political rallies from being held in election-bound states.
