Netflix and I&B Ministry join hands to honour real-heroes on Azadi Ki Amrit Kahaniyan
New Delhi: The OTT giant, Netflix, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) joined hands to unravel stories surrounding real heroes of India in an upcoming series titled Azadi Ki Amrit Kahaniyan. The series aims to honour real heroes. Veteran actor Neena Gupta will narrate the series.
The series was launched by the I&B Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in March.
Thakur said, “This initiative aims to bring out inspiring stories of Indians, and these stories shall motivate and empower more people to achieve their goals.”
Azadi Ki Amrit Kahaniyan will feature short videos to highlight the journey of individuals who broke the glass ceiling in fields ranging from science to sports.
According to the Netflix Global Head of TV, Bela Bajaria, “Great stories can come from anywhere and are ever so inspiring when they are about people who rise against the odds. In partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Azadi Ki Amrit Kahaniyan focuses on celebrating remarkable individuals and their stories that can inspire people in India and the world.”
Thakur revealed a long-term partnership coupled with different themes and diverse stories and said, “Netflix will be producing twenty-five videos on themes including women empowerment, environment and sustainable development and other days of significance. Netflix will produce two-minute short films for the Ministry, which will be shared on social media platforms and telecast on the Doordarshan network.”
The series is available on the Ministry’s social media platforms, Netflix, and Doordarshan. It will also be available in Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, English, and Malayalam languages.
