Nana Patekar to make OTT debut
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Nana Patekar is set to make his OTT debut with Prakash Jha’s political drama Laal Batti. The actor-director duo last collaborated in 2010 with film, Rajneeti, which also starred Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpayee, and Katrina Kaif.
The Welcome actor confirmed the news and said, “I am doing it.” The socio-political drama will be a web series that investigate the dark side of politics.
“With Lal Batti, which symbolises power, the director is delving deep into the dark side of politics again, narrating the reality around us like never attempted before in any Hindi political drama series so far,” Patekar shared.
He made last appearance in Bollywood film Wedding Anniversary opposite Mahie Gill. He even made a cameo in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again. Patekar was also seen in Kaala and It’s My Life films.
Laal Batti is speculated to go on floors in Uttar Pradesh around September 2022. Jio Cinemas is reportedly roped in to fund the project. The makers are yet to reveal the ensemble cast.
