New Delhi, April 20: Late Kelvin Kiptum will be remembered before Sunday’s race with 30 seconds of applause at the 2024 London Marathon, the media reported.
Kenya’s world record holder died, alongside his coach, in a car accident at the age of 24 in February in his home country.
Kelvin Kiptum won the 2023 London Marathon and set a new record of 2:01:25 hours.
In his career, the late player won some of the biggest marathons in the world including the Valencia Marathon (2022), the London Marathon, and the Chicago Marathon (both 2023).
Before his death, Kiptum was preparing for the Rotterdam Marathon and the Paris Olympics.
