Srinagar: The Kashmir zone police on Wednesday said that Two terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out in the Kanjiular area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian. The terrorists were linked with the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). One policeman also sustained minor injuries in the encounter.

Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces had been jointly conducting the operation. Earlier on Tuesday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out in the Bemina area of Srinagar.
“ShopianEncounterUpdate: 02 terrorists linked with proscribed #terror outfit LeT killed. Identification is being ascertained. Further details shall follow,” tweeted the Kashmir Zone Police.
Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said one of the slain terrorists was identified as Jan Mohammad Lone, who was allegedly involved in the killing of a bank manager in Kulgam district recently.
In the year 2022, 104 terrorists have been killed in over 60 operations in the Kashmir Valley. The police also claim to have killed 30 foreign terrorists in these operations. Security forces also lost 16 personnel this year while 17 civilians were also killed in various incidents.
