Jersey unveils a heartfelt trailer on April 04
Mumbai: The makers unveiled the trailer of the upcoming Bollywood film Jersey on Monday, April 04, 2022. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor took to social media to share a motion poster from the film. Jersey will release in theatres on April 14, 2022.
Posting the poster on his Instagram account, Shahid wrote, “Blood, Sweat, emotions, and a whole lot of love! Experience Arjun and his story. Jersey trailer dropping at 1 pm today.” Meanwhile, his mother-actor Neliima Azeem reacted to the post by commenting ‘Fab’ with a heart and lit emoji.
The new trailer is a montage that portrays different shades of Shahid Kapoor’s character- as a determined cricketer, a doting father, a loving husband, and an underdog who prepares to rise again.
The film will mark Shahid’s first on-screen performance since the success of his blockbuster, Kabir Singh. Talking about projects after Kabir Singh, Kapoor said, “After Kabir Singh, I wanted to find a story which can give the audience a complete experience. People come with expectations after you have given them an experience that stays with them, which Kabir Singh was. I have worked very hard to find a subject which had the emotional potential to stay true to people’s expectations.”
“I am very proud of Jersey. It is close to my heart because I have grown through many phases in my career. I have films where I have played crazy characters, like Tommy Singh in Udta Punjab. If this film can make people feel the way I felt, it will give them lots of hope. When I saw the film, I felt that I could chase my dreams.”
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, produced by Dil Raju, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, Aman Gill, and Allu Aravind, and distributed by Yash Raj Films, Geetha Arts, and Pen India Limited, Jersey is a sports drama.
The film features actors Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, Geetika Mehandru, Rudrashish Majumder, Anjum Batra, and Shishir Sharma in pivotal roles.
