Indian Super League: Kerala Blasters Oust NorthEast United 2-1
New Delhi: The Kerala Blasters ousted NorthEast United 2-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa, on Friday, February 04, 2022.
Kerala’s Ayush Adhikari snatched the ball from the opponents and passed to Sahal Samad, whose shot went off-target in the 5th minute. NorthEast’s Marcelo Pereira got the ball from Hernan Santana and tried scoring outside the box. The ball went off-target in the 28th minute.
NorthEast’s Marco Sahanek took the corner and passed to Santana, who missed the top right corner shot in the 37th minute. The first half ended with no goals from either team despite several chances.
The second half began with Kerala’s Jorge Diaz scoring in the 62nd minute. It was followed by Kerala’s Alvaro Vazquez striking a goal in the 82nd minute.
However, the visibly frustrated NorthEast scored in the final moments. NorthEast’s Mohamed Irshad pulled a score for the team in the 95th minute. However, Kerala won the match 2-1.
