India Records Surge in Death Toll, Reports 2.35 lakh new Covid cases
New Delhi: India registered 2,35,532 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is 6.2 percent lower than yesterday. The country also reported 871 daily deaths, bringing the total reported death count to 4,93,198.
India’s total caseload now stands at 4,08,58,241, while the active caseload is at 20,04,333. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 1,01,278.
Continuing with the decreasing trend in daily Coronavirus cases, India has again recorded a dip in infections on Saturday. India has registered 2,35,532 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. However, the surge in the death toll is a greater cause of concern as 871 succumbed to the virus on Friday.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 54,537 cases, followed by Karnataka with 31,198 cases, Tamil Nadu with 26,533 cases, Maharashtra with 24,948 cases, and Andhra Pradesh with 12,561 cases. India’s recovery rate now stands at 93.89 percent.
India has administered a total of 56,72,766 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,65,04,87,260.
