IFFM 2022: Actor Tamannah Bhatia to judge Bollywood dance competition
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Tamannah Bhatia is set to judge a Bollywood dance competition at the Indian Film Festival at Melbourne (IFFM) 2022.
The actor is a classically trained dancer. The organisers received registrations from across the globe, with several dancers from different parts of the world, including Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand to partake in the completion.
Bhatia will be joined by the current Miss Australia, Ms. Kristen Wright, in co-judging the competition.
“I have been a dancer all my life. Bollywood dance is something that I grew up with and our industry shows such a versatile culture that is reflected in our choreographies. We all know Bollywood has a fan following beyond India. And what makes the competition more special is people from across the globe are coming to take part in this competition,” Bhatia said.
“I am really thankful to the IFFM for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this competition,” she added.
The IFFM 2022 is an annual festival that is presented by the Victorian Government and is held in Melbourne, Australia, to showcase and honour some of the best films from the Indian subcontinent.
The festival is making a comeback with its 13th edition in a physical format after being held virtually for the past two years. The IFFM 2022 will begin from August 12 to August 20, 2022, in person, whereas the virtual programme of the event will be held from August 13 to August 30, 2022, for the Australian audiences.
There are over 100 films across 23 languages that are expected to be screened at the festival this year.
Meanwhile, an All-Awards night celebration will be held on August 14, 2022, in the Melbourne city. The awards will acknowledge and honour the best cinematic talent across all formats of feature films and acclaimed OTT series that were released between August 2021 and April 2022 in the Indian subcontinent.
