New Delhi: The NEROCA Football Club (FC) defeated Indian Arrows 1-0 in the I-League 2022 at the Naihati Stadium, Kolkata, on Monday, March 28, 2022.
The match began with Indian Arrows in possession of the ball. Though Suhail Ahmad Bhat made a dangerous cross inside the box in the 6th minute, FC saved the shot. Parthib Gogoi of Arrows passed the ball to Vibin Mohanan in the 12th minute and alerted the FC defence.
Though Arrows player Lalchhanhima Sailo passed to Sajad Hussain Parray inside the box, the ball went wide in the 22nd minute. FC finally took charge of the ball in the 35th minute, with Khaiminthang Lhungdim shooting a failed attempt. Though Lhungdim successfully scored a few minutes later, the goal was disallowed. The first half ended in a goalless draw.
The second half began with Indian Arrows adapting an attacking strategy with Bhat, Gogoi, and Mohanan ready to score. On the other hand, the FC players stood their ground and defended their net. The ball struck Arrows player Brijesh Giri in the 73rd minute before hitting the net. Arrows scored in their own net and gave a point to FC. Therefore, NEROCA FC won the match 1-0 against the Indian Arrows.
