Gujarat: The Indian Coast Guard Arrests Nine Pakistani Nationals with 56Kg Heroine
Porbandar: The Indian Coast Guard on Monday informed that it apprehended a Pakistani boat ‘Al Haj’ with nine crew, on the Indian side of the Arabian sea carrying heroin worth about Rs 280 crore. The operation was done in cooperation with Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Gujarat.
ATS reportedly got information about the drugs being brought from Pakistan and with the help of the Indian Coast Guard, the boat coming from across the border was spotted and necessary action was taken.
A defense spokesperson said the Indian Coast Guard ships intercepted and apprehended the Pakistani boat ‘Al Haj’ when it ventured into the Indian waters.
The Indian Coast Guard boat started the hot pursuit of the Pakistani fishing boat. The boat was capable of high speed and was stopped forcibly as the Indian boat had to fire at the boat to prevent its escape.

State Police Chief Ashish Bhatia said that the other accused involved in the racket would be nabbed after a thorough investigation. The heroin is Afghan-made. Large quantities of drugs are cultivated in Afghanistan.
The pressure from the Taliban is increasing and it is being sold in different countries of the world. Security agencies are active in curbing such illegal activity in the sea of Gujarat, and earlier also rackets of drugs from Pakistan were seized.
