Rajkot: Another incident of fire in hospital came into the light in Gujarat. Now the fire broke out in Rajkot’s Uday Shivanand Hospital. Incident happened on starting hours of Friday around 1 AM and five patients died in this incident.

A fire brigade official said that “We rushed to the spot and rescued 30 patients after a call informing about the fire was received. Three patients died inside the ICU, while two died shortly thereafter,” rescued patients are now under treatment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths and said “the administration is ensuring all possible assistance to those affected.”

“Extremely pained by the loss of lives due to a hospital fire in Rajkot. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate tragedy. Praying for a quick recovery of the injured. The administration is ensuring all possible assistance to those affected,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.

On the fire incident in Rajkot’s covid-19 hospital – Chief Minister Office said that Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe into the incident.

The way fire in the hospital incidents are happened in Gujarat specially in the last few months – The Supreme Court took suo moto cognizance of the incident. SC sought response from the state government and also taking strong exception to implementation of fire safety mechanism in hospitals across the country.
