Football: Olivier Giraud to retire from France national team
New Delhi, May 24: AC Milan player Olivier Giraud revealed that he is retiring from international football after representing France at the 2024 Euro, the media reported on Friday.
“This will be my last competition with Les Bleus. I’m going to miss it a lot, but we need to make way for the youngsters.” Giraud said.
The World Cup winner Giraud debuted in France’s national team in 2011 at the age of 25. Now 37, he is France’s all-time top scorer with 131 appearances and 57 goals.
The French legend is also leaving Italian club AC Milan to join the American measure league soccer team Los Angeles FC after the 2024 Euro. He has signed one year and six months contract at the club.
