Football: Lionel Messi’s name shielded a 90-year-old woman from Hamas terror!
New Delhi, Mar 8: Even Hamas terrorists seem to watch football matches and love Argentine legend and Inter-Miami FC Lionel Messi! When they invaded Israel on October 7 last year and massacred many, they also ran into a 90-year-old woman. But they spared her when she told them she was from Messi’s country, Argentina, the media, quoting the survivor, reported.
The incident happened in the South of Israel, at Nir oz kibbutz. When Hamas terrorists entered a house to kill the nonagenarian woman, they left her alone after finding she was from Argentina.
The survivor, Esther Cunio, in a documentary, Voces de 7de Octubre, said how mentioning Lionel Messi protected her from death. “One of them asked, where is your family?” She replied. “I don’t have any family. I’m alone.” “But you speak Arabic, and I speak Hebrew poorly,” she told him. “I speak Argentine and Spanish…do you watch soccer?” When a terrorist answered, Cunio told him “I am from where Messi is from.” “Messi!” And then the terrorist told her “I like Messi.”
After the brief conversation, the terrorist grabbed Cunio’s arm, gave her a revolver, and the rifle, and posed with her to take a video. In the documentary, the survivor, Cunio, also said her grandchildren Ariel and David Cunio have not yet been freed by the terrorists
