New Delhi, July 4: European football’s governing body UEFA has said the German police are investigating an incident between stewards and a fan during the match between Portugal and Slovenia in Frankfurt, Germany, the media reported on Thursday.
The footage published in Portuguese media shows two stewards kicking and punching a fan in the stadium tunnel during the Euro 2024 game.
“UEFA is aware of an incident which took place between stewards and a fan from the Portugal vs Slovenia match and condemns any violent behavior. The incident in the video is now the subject of a police investigation,” UEFA said in the statement.
Portugal, which won the game on penalties to reach the quarter-finals, will play against France on Friday.
