New Delhi, July 18: Cavan Sullivan, the 14-year-old Philadelphia Union player, has become the youngest-ever Major League Soccer (MLS) player in history, the media reported on Thursday.

Cavan entered the pitch at 85 minutes as a substitute in the Philadelphia Union 5- 1 win over New England Revolution on Wednesday at Sabaru Park in Pennsylvania, USA.

Cavan, who is 14 years and 293 days old, broke Freddy Adu’s record by 13 days. Adu set the record on April 3, 2004, when he debuted with D.C United.

“Big congrats to Cavan Sullivan for his record-breaking debut today. That’s hard to break and the kid did it. Well done and good luck my man.” Freddy Adu wrote on X. Before debuting in the first team, he scored back-to-back games for the Philadelphia Union’s second team.

Cavan who signed for the Philadelphia Union in May, is expected to join English football club Manchester City at the age of 18.
