Education: Rajasthan to reopen schools from August 2
New Delhi: All government schools in Rajasthan will reopen from August 2 after remaining closed since March due to the Covid-19.
The state government took this crucial decision at a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
The government will allow the reopening of all colleges, universities, and coaching classes as well but their dates will be announced later.
These educational institutions were closed since the outbreak of the second wave of the pandemic in March 2021.
According to medical experts, young children are free from the risk of catching the virus.
Rajasthan Education Minister and Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra said the pandemic-related protocols will be followed in schools to keep children safe. “It is necessary to reopen schools for all classes since children from rural areas or poor income backgrounds cannot afford online education,” he added.
