Dense fog in Delhi: 140 fights to and from Delhi delayed
New Delhi, Jan 16: The flights from and to Delhi have been delayed or cancelled due to the thick layer of fog in the national capital. 140 flights have been affected by the fog in Delhi.
Delhi Airport officials on Saturday informed that “Around 80 flights originating from and over 50 flights bound to the Delhi airport have been delayed mainly due to dense fog and other operational reasons on Saturday.”
Delhi Airport authority has announced an advisory for passengers on early Saturday and in advisory they said that “passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Due to dense fog, only CAT III A and CAT III B compliant aircraft and pilots are able to operate. Any inconvenience is regretted.”
Heavy fog reduced the visibility on roads and in the sky. People in Delhi should take more care while driving. Low visibility could be the reason for accidents so people should go for public or safe transportation.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said that “The thick blanket of fog reduced visibility to zero metres in the national capital on Saturday.”
