Daniel Radcliff says he is ‘Not Interested’ in another Harry Potter film
Mumbai: British actor Daniel Radcliff, who gained fame as the Boy who lived in the Harry Potter films, said he is not interested in returning to the franchise anytime soon. Radcliff last appeared during the 20th-anniversary reunion of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Director Chris Columbus, who helmed the first two films, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, had expressed his desire to return to the Wizarding World by adapting the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a film with the original trio of Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Radcliff.
Talking about the recent cast reunion, Radcliff said, “This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore.”
Responding to Columbus’ statement during an interview, he said, “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter okay – I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life.”
“I’m never going to say never – the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It is not something I’m really interested in doing right now,” he added.
Based on J.K. Rowling’s popular novel franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play that premiered in 2016. It received appreciation from worldwide fans and garnered several awards, including two Tony Awards and a Goodreads Choice Awards.
Radcliff will star alongside Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt, and Sandra Bullock in their upcoming film, Lost City, which hits theatres on April 08, 2022.
